A Fair That Opened New Doors for Tongu’s Youth

For many young people across Tongu, the desire to continue their education and build meaningful careers is strong. Yet, without the right information and guidance, choosing the right programme or institution can be difficult.

The maiden Tongu Education Fair was organised to bridge this gap. It brought together more than 370 young people and representatives from several universities and tertiary institutions in one inspiring space.

Participants received direct guidance on academic programmes, admission requirements, career opportunities and pathways to higher education. Some qualified applicants were also offered instant admission, transforming what began as a visit to an education fair into the beginning of a life-changing academic journey.

The impact was immediate. Questions were answered, uncertainty gave way to direction, and young people who had limited access to university representatives were able to engage directly with institutions and explore opportunities suited to their aspirations.

The fair was more than a one-day event. It brought education and opportunity closer to the people, restored hope and demonstrated that a young person’s location should never limit their future.

For some, the day provided clarity. For others, it opened the door to university. For all, it was a powerful reminder that with the right information and opportunity, dreams can take flight.
