2026/2027 Enlistment into the Ghana Military Academy

The Ghana Armed Forces has opened applications for qualified Ghanaians seeking enlistment into the Ghana Military Academy for the 2026/2027 intake. Opportunities are available across the Army, Navy and Air Force under the Regular Career Officer Course and Short Service Commission.

The Ghana Armed Forces invites suitably qualified Ghanaians to apply for the 2026/2027 enlistment into the Ghana Military Academy.

The enlistment offers qualified applicants an opportunity to pursue a professional military career in the Army, Navy or Air Force. Vacancies are available under the Regular Career Officer Course and Short Service Commission in several professional and specialised fields.

General eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be Ghanaian citizens of good character.
• Be medically fit according to Ghana Armed Forces standards.
• Pass the Pre-Joining Fitness Test.
• Not be bonded.
• Be unmarried, where applicable to Regular Cadets.
• Be between 18 and 26 years by 18 February 2027 for the Regular Career Officer Course.
• Meet the age, academic and professional requirements for their chosen Short Service Commission vacancy.
• Have a minimum height of 1.68 metres for males and 1.60 metres for females.

For Military Police applicants, the minimum height is 1.75 metres for males and 1.70 metres for females.

Academic requirements

Applicants must have six BECE credits, including English, Mathematics and Science.

They must also possess one of the following:

• Six WASSCE credits from A1 to C6, including Core English, Core Mathematics and Core Science.
• Six SSSCE credits from A to D, including Core English, Core Mathematics and Core Science.
• Five GCE Ordinary Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, together with three GCE Advanced Level passes from A to D.

Applicants must also hold the degree, professional qualification and work experience required for their chosen vacancy. Most Regular Career Officer positions require at least a Second Class Lower first degree from an accredited institution.

How to apply

1. Purchase an electronic application voucher for GH₵200 from a designated post office.

2. Applicants in the Volta Region can obtain vouchers from post offices in Ho, Anloga, Keta, Hohoe, Kpando, Denu, Peki and Sogakope.

3. Visit the Ghana Armed Forces enlistment portal at http://apply.mil.gh from Friday, 4 September 2026.

4. Select “Apply Now” and enter the voucher serial number and PIN.

5. Choose the preferred arm of service, commission type and vacancy.

6. Complete the online application and upload the required documents.

7. Preview all information carefully before submitting the application.

8. Print and safely keep the final application report.

Applicants must upload a passport photograph measuring 200 by 180 pixels, together with scanned copies of their WASSCE certificate and first degree or relevant certificate. Each uploaded document must not exceed 1MB and must be submitted in PDF format where required.

Applicants must keep the used electronic voucher because it will be inspected at every stage of the selection process.

• Southern Centre – Accra
• Northern Centre – Kumasi

Applicants from the Volta Region will use the Southern Centre in Accra.
